Blizzard 2009 Hits Pocahontas County

Well, we survived Blizzard 2009 unscathed. Three days later we still have massive piles of snow, but roads are clear and the sun is now shining on the beautiful snowy fields.

Snowshoe Mountain Hopes to Open Dec 4

After an unusually mild fall, Snowshoe Mountain was forced to delay it’s Opening Day for the winter ski and snowboard season. Snowshoe’s Opening Day was planned for Wednesday, November 25th, but the resort has seen only 4” of natural snowfall since early October, and has had very few chances to make snow for sustained periods, due to mild temperatures.

A Winter Wonderland… Already!
