WV RoadKill adds new events

Today the Pocahontas County Chamber of Commerce announced several new events for the upcoming Autumn Harvest Festival and WV RoadKill Cook-off.  According to committee chair Sherry Radcliff of Green Bank “We’re pulling out all the stops to make sure there’s plenty of fun for every member of the family.”

Allegheny Echoes returns to Marlinton

In the Appalachian Mountains when people hear the name Mike Bing they automatically think of Allegheny Echoes. The two have been together since 1997 when Mike, Kirk Judd, Sherrell Wigal, John Blisard and Monica Bing established the Allegheny Echoes annual summer workshops in Pocahontas County.

Locally made art makes great gift

Winter and Christmas are wonderful times here in Pocahontas County for many reasons. Blankets of snow, snowmobiling on the Highland Scenic Highway, and skiing at Snowshoe Mountain are only a few of them. If you like shopping though, the county has some big surprises.

Make it or buy it – the Art Co-op has great hand made gifts

There is a gem of a find for shoppers in the region. The Pocahontas County Artisans Coop has not only some beautiful pieces but they are marked at incredibly reasonable low prices. I was with a motor coach tour awhile back and we stopped at the Co-op.

Art classes in the county
